The Uprising of Fellowship – Wk 34 – Sunday 12th April 2015

Psalm 133;
John 20;
Acts 8:26-40

Have you ever hidden from someone or something? How did that feel? The friends of Jesus hid after his death. They locked themselves in a room and hoped to be safe. After Jesus’ resurrection he appeared in a locked room, yet he was touched. He had been dead, yet he was alive. He was able to move with a freedom that the living cannot and yet he ate. In that hiding place, his first followers discovered a fellowship with God and with each other that would change the world.

“In that space of fellowship, the Holy Spirit fills us like a deep breath of fresh air.” Brian McLaren – We Make the Road by Walking, Ch 34
